I thought Rohirrim was great in the context of a low-magic fantasy setting. It was a solid story and beautiful animation. It was at its best when it was blazing its own trail instead of rehashing Lord of the Rings tropes.
I think there’s too few low magic cartoons and quality fantasy cartoons. Unfortunately my attempts at making cartoons have not gone well.
My biggest criticism of Rorhirrim is that it would be stronger without the LOTR baggage and media legacy because that brings up a whole lot of stuff. But I’m fully aware that Rorhirrim wouldn’t have been made except for LOTR.
