Summary
Last session, the General Adventuring Guild secured passage with their new ally, Captain Brodo, setting sail for the mysterious and dangerous island to the north. After a three-day journey, they altered their course toward a river mouth, hoping to find a safe harbor away from the island’s haunted port.
Their voyage was interrupted by a grim discovery: a slain merman floating in the water. Nearby, a merwoman was desperately fighting off two red-scaled, shark-like humanoids known as Sahaguin. Springing into action, Andy loosed a single, perfect arrow that instantly killed one of the assailants. The other fled, vowing to return with demons. After a callously-phrased inquiry about a reward from Valtor, the grieving merwoman offered to lead them to a shipwreck as thanks.
She guided them for several hours to the wreck of the ‘Lucky Star’, an ancient trading vessel shattered upon the southern rocks. Leaving Valtor and Eldarin to keep watch, the rest of the party rowed to the wreck with two of Brodo’s crew. As they boarded the dilapidated ship, one of the sailors began a strange, intense card reading.
Their exploration was violently cut short when a monstrous, wagon-sized anemone burst from the flooded cargo hold. Tuck heroically leaped into the fray, driving his sword deep into the beast. The creature retaliated fiercely, knocking Andy unconscious and dragging him into the water. Bruggen bravely dove in to administer life-saving aid while Tuck, empowered by his frosty armor and healed by a flying Eldarin, dealt a final, crushing blow.
In the captain’s quarters, they found the captain’s skeleton, seemingly murdered, and a strange glass box. Taking it ashore, they devised a careful plan to open it from a distance, releasing a cloud of noxious gas. Inside, their prize was a glass orb, an ancient magical artifact containing the spell Floating Disk.
